Prayer concert for August 2010

We praise God for the Image of God Seminar held in Salamanca that was full of blessing and gratitude. We’ve had 52 participants to the seminar and many have made new commitment to renew their life journey. Beside us, we formed a ministry team of Cuernavaca (about 10 people from RPC), which is another objective accomplished. There was also a team from ANC (team leader: Mr. Park), a wonderful partner to work with.
Pastor Joo's (from ANC) conference on The Ten Commandments and The Sermon on the Mount was another praise for God. Emmanuel Presbytery gathered in Shekinah Church for this intensive study. We also arranged him to address a 90 Day Bible Reading for a group of Korean churches in DF.
For August, the followings are our needs in YOUR PRAYER.
a. July 30-Aug 1 ... We are having the very first youth retreat of Emmanuel Presbytery. Abe will be the speaker. He will speak about the five assurances (salvation, answered prayer, victory, forgiveness, and God's direction) and will have a banquet for the youth to dedicate their life for Christ as promise to keep sexual abstinence until they find their mate. Each teenager will get a ring as a reminder of promise. May this retreat be a spiritual challenge where they experience personal encounter with the Lord. Praying wholeheartedly!
b. Aug 3-8 ... We are hosting a short term missions team in Chiapas. We are scheduled to visit RPCs in Ejido Zaragoza and Ejido Arimatea, in addition to a quinceaño celebration. Pray for safe travel and fruitful ministry.
c. On July 18, Abe's dear grandmother has gone to be with the Lord. She was like a mother to him. Pray that God continue to comfort him and those in Paraguay. He will visit the buried site for a week (12-19) and while he is gone to Paraguay, Elaine will oversee VBS programs at a number of churches. She will visit them and advice with thoughtful insights and tools.
d. Aug 23 ... Most schools start new school year. Nanana will be back but at new schools. They are growing and Naomi has also decided to go back to school rather than home school. May God help them to make new friends and teachers. Let them be light and salt at the schools where they are going to be.
e. Every Thursday (or Monday) night Abe has offered Bible teaching to a new converts (Raul & Lety and their children). We teach them the beauty of God’s world. Please pray for this couple to experience the deeper truth in Christ, and find a church home.
f. Pray for two concerns in Emmanuel Presbytery: (1) Evangelism class at El Nazareno RPC. The learning pace is so slow, Abe has break down a session into 4-week lessons per session. May God speak to their heart first before stepping out to their neighbors! The gospel may empower them to be a good witness of God’s love. (2) Pastor Nain de Jesus is giving very negative influence at Shekinah RPC. Many members have expressed us their unconformity over his pastoral skills.
May God continue to bless you and your church. Remember our God is always good. thanks.
