October 2005 WHEREABOUTS & PRAYER GUIDES
THE LEES IN CHIAPAS, MEXICO
October 2005
Our children have started, since early August, countdown the days to meet their dad who is still in the field for some reasons which they don’t quite understand yet. They are successfully readjusting to new school, and enjoy very much to be with prayerful Christian teachers. Nathan and Nahum, however, are required extra language help. Daddy will come home on Oct. 25. Pray Abe’s safe trip to Los Angeles and our fresh start for home service.
Our 10th anniversary will be celebrated on Oct. 28. Thank God for letting and protecting us in our run as a Christian couple along with three lovely children. We are grateful for more ups than downs in our walk. Pray that our marriage will grow even more, not in number (!), to be a source of blessing for others in marriage struggle.
Another thanks to God for amazing progress Keith, Elaine’s brother, has made so far. He is now motivated to drive a car after months in bed. Although he showed good at, we force-fully advice him to wait until his unopened right eye is completely healed. As of Sept. 11, he has returned to All Nations CRC (L.A., CA) to pastor High school department. Also, he in-vites you all to his ordination service on Nov. 27 at his church. Please pray for his complete recovery on his right eye and upcoming glorious day of ordination to minister of the Word.
Abe is wrapping up 5 years of ministry among the Chols in Chiapas. He has been busy visit-ing and being invited to churches mostly for farewell services. Pray that they will grow firm and bold in faith regardless our permanent absence. Pray for the spiritual awakening and church growth though Chiapas Reformed Bible Institute.
Pray for Efren and Melina as they drive down this week to Chiapas from Ciudad Juarez, Chi-huahua. Pray for their safe travel, Melina’s pregnancy, and finding a place to make their home.
Pray for Mexico City seminary students (especially for Esdras, Eusebio, Jorge, & Drucila from Chiapas) to be equipped with high vision of God and go back to serve their own people.
Pray for Esperanza, Pastor Pedro Gutierrez’s wife, whose pregnancy (12 weeks) just sur-vived from abortion threat.
SOME SCHEDULED ACTIVITIES:
1. During Oct. 3-7, a Culture Tour (or Vision Trip) to Oaxaca, neighbor state to Chiapas will be made. Abe and Chol students will visit newly planted missions in this poor state. For two purposes: share the gospel and learn their church planting experi-ences.
2. Abe will conduct infant baptism at Bethesda church (Oct. 16). The parents requested him for ‘missionary’ blessing. May the event be done for the glory of Christ!
3. In Oct. 10-12, a Chol presbytery of National Presbyterian Church will have Abe for a course on church planting. It designed a local program to train church workers and upgrade its quality of church planting effort.
4. Pray for the recently named Community Development Committee (Chol presbytery) scheduled to create new projects with Moises Colop (CRWRC) for Oct. 13-14. Join us in prayer for their interest not in foreign funds but the programs and its outcomes.
5. Pray for upcoming important meetings: COMUNI, a combined ministry body between CRWM Mexico Team and RPCM church representatives (Oct. 18-20); and Annual Field Council meeting (Oct. 20-24). Both held in Mexico City.
6. Chiapas Reformed Bible Institute will have classes during Oct 17-21 (Palenque) and 24-28 (Tocob). From then, it will start running the program by the Chol staffs. Please with your prayer lift them up in spirit so they will stay firm in any circumstances.
Thanks for your faithful and ongoing support for our ministry. God bless you abundantly!
