Jan. '05 prayer items...
Happy New Year! Praise God for His faithfulness to Keith's needs. We are so debtful and thanksful to you all who have been consistently kneeling down before God in prayer. Keith got much better. Please visit at Keith's blog under LINKS in right column.
Our children have enjoyed to stay with their cousins, Abigail(2 yrs) and Isabel(6 mos), beside all kinds of Korean foods. The ceaseless fun still continues around them: no schooling, first of all, rather playing all day long, watching DVDs in auntie Sandy's car, hanging around the hospital where uncle Keith gets ongoing treatments, and flipping over pictured books in nearby Barnes & Noble while daddy tastes Starbucks. It has been their daily &, by now, routinary activities. Especially playing with cousins has been a blessing to Naomi and Nathan to get to know their extended younger familymembers; nevertheless Nahum seemed to have trouble with Abigail (vice versa) as both children take the encounter very serious (a conflict between the youngest and the first child). Nahum couldn't see us holding her. Abigail wouldn't let him be over her. However, through the conflictive feelings, they also learned the meaning of familyhood and social life by an unconvinsing(?) explanation of their parents. Pray that they may grow "in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men" as Jesus did (Luke 2:52).
January 2005 means a lot to the Lees. So we have numerous important prayer items...
For Keith's physical status Elaine will stay a little longer than expected in L.A. while Abe will return back to Palenque, Chiapas on January 8.
January 10: ALPREPA (Presbyterian Alliance of Palenque) will have the first meeting as a legal entity. May its annual plans help its churches grow in the Spirit.
January 12: RBIC (Reformed Bible Institute of Chiapas) will celebrate its 3rd Commencement service during the XII Chol Presbytery meetings in the village called Nueva Galilea. Cesario, Luis, and Juana will graduate this year. Cesario is enrolled in the study program of AMICH (Missions Agency of Chiapas). Luis plans to study at All Nations Seminary (Rev. John Lee) in Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua next Fall. And Juana will prepare a little more for women's ministry and children ministry.
January 11-14: Chol presbytery will have its annual meeting. May the Spirit of Pentecost pour His power and wisdom upon every delegate to effectively enrich their ministry in the upcoming year.
January 14-17: CRWM Mexico missionaries will have a spiritual retreat in Progreso, Yucatan, with Rev. William Vanden Bosch as our guest speaker. May the Spirit bind us with His Word and give us a united ministry philosophy.
January 24-28: RBIC will initiate another school year receiving new students. May the Spirit touch new hearts to hunger and eager to feed themselves attending our institute. Abe will teach New Testament Introduction (Part 1) for the first year students.
At last, pray also for the safety in Palenque. As we informed you earlier this week, we've been robbed again (desktop computer, printer, scanner, etc.). It's the third time during almost 5 years of Christian service. It really frustrates and upsets us, though we know, as some friends of ours commented us before, that 'We are in the sin-full world.' However, its really difficult to understand "Why?" In this regard, we pray that our children will never doubt of the divine sovereignty and providence. Thanks. God bless you all as you continue kneel down for a good fight!

Worship with GMC

Familiar faces welcomed us as we stepped into the church (Global Mission Church) for a mission emphasis Wednesday service. Thanks to pastor Seung, Susie, Joanne, and David who visited our missions field last Summer. This church has a fivefold theme (5M): magnify, maturity, membership, ministry, and mission. Tonight the service was all about missions. Following joyful praises, a 10 minute pictures presentation titled "Welcome to NANANA site" helped them further understand on what we've been doing for the Ch'ol people. Also, a short message (Acts 1:3-8) helped the church participate to great missions commission to "the remotest part of the earth" whether it is abroad or home. We thank the church again for her service to us. Pray that GMC will be even more faithful in becoming a missionary church to the world.

Quake in our mind
While the world mourns from the effects of the earthquake and tsunami in Asia, we have been surprised by disturbing news from Palenque, Chiapas. We've been in Los Angeles to visit Keith (Elaine's brother) who has suffered and is gradually recovering from Stevens-Johnson Syndrome. In between our busy schedule from/to the hospital, our dear Christian brother Cesario, our housesitter, informed us today that our house has been broken into sometime last night.
Early this morning, on his way to work, Cesario stopped by to check out our house and was terrified. A window protector was broken and found on the ground. Our desktop computer and some other things had been taken away. With tears of sadness and anger, he told us the details of what happened. We ended our conversation encouraging him to react to this incident in a Christian way. Indeed, we're sad for our loss but we are thankful for a good friend.

International Party
We went to LA Hanmi Church for Christmas service. It has been home church to Elaine's parents since last April. At 8AM the church was packed while many other churches remained locked for family activities.
From the pulpit pastor Park announced a birthday party to be initiated for Jesus the newborn King. Some carols and Christmas hymns have been sung by the greeters. God welcomed His people to the party and a cake has been cut and "Happy birthday, Jesus" was sang by the church.
Unexpectedly, the pastor, during the service, asked me for apostolic blessing. Guess what? I did it in Spanish. "It made the party international" commented the pastor. Bewildered but with huge interest every worshipper received this heavenly blessing. May the grace of the perfect Missionary be upon everyone of them...
